You couldn’t have asked for better weather for tailgating for the LSU - Mississippi State game. Luckily, LSU held off the trend of upsets over the past weekend. With a week off, the Tigers should be well rested to face Florida in The Swamp.

LSU put a pounding on the North Texas Mean Green. Hopefully the Tigers can bring the heat against Auburn this Saturday in Jordan-Hare stadium. Any tailgaters that are making the trip out there can email me photos and/or video to info at thetigerblog dot com.

The opening week was pretty slow with Hurricane Gustav bearing down on Louisiana. Many tailgaters kept it simple by hanging out just before the game then heading out to prepare for the storm. Many tailgating spots usually occupied by faithful fans were left vacant.

LSU fans now have to worry about Hurricane Ike’s destination. “Take A Hike, Ike” is a phrase that has become commonplace in Baton Rouge. As of now, there has been no decision made as to where the LSU-North Texas matchup will take place. Hopefully we will see the Tigers play in Death Valley if Ike continues its westward path.

Meanwhile, check out photos from the home opener.
